Snow in Cornwall

Someone recently told me it never snows near the coast?  Odd that, there’s several inches of the stuff here in Penzance today, I’ve just watched a Range Rover creeping down the hill past the office barely moving – and if the driver of that is nervous how does my little 1.2 Diesel cope?  Really odd one today, the A30 was fine until a few miles from Penzance.

We’ve just stood (in the warmth of my office) and watched a Robert Wiseman Dairy lorry get itself good and stuck at the junction of Chapel Street and Quay Street, thanks to a bag of Steamship Company road salt (TM) and some clutch burning, cab bouncing action he managed to reverse and get a better angle to drive down the road.

There are damaged cars all over the place, and some very scared looking drivers, I think it might be time for one or two to stay off the roads until it’s safer!

Oh, and did they _really_ close the A30 at Hayle yesterday due to icicles??

Took a couple of pics on the way in this morning;
